Virtuoso Legal welcome James Gilmer to our London team as a trainee solicitor.

James had joined the Virtuoso Legal London team previously as an intern impressing Philip Partington and Lakmal Walawage with his assistance on the contentious case load.

James has an excellent pedigree in intellectual property with a range of excellent academic and professional experiences in the field. Joining the team in March, James has already had a key impact in assisting with high profile trials over the course of the month.

Upon joining the team, James commented:

“People talk about finding the right job – in my case this is literally that. I had always visualized myself as a Virtuoso trainee solicitor ever since my week of work experience spent at Leeds office. Now I’m here, I feel so honoured and privileged to work alongside lawyers, that are not only at the top of their field, but also within a firm in which each of our colleagues are part of one big family.

I don’t look back too much on what I achieved so far, I always prefer to look forward and I think bringing success in the form of fulfilment and happiness for our clients counts as and will always be the top prize. There is a real culture at the firm of flexibility and support with your own personal goals, and I really like that.

The short-term target is qualification next year. However, In the long term, hopefully with hard work and utilizing the great training on offer here at Virtuoso, I can become a permanent fixture and drive growth in the firm.”

Director, Head of IP Protect and head of Virtuoso Legal’s London team, Philip Partington said:

As a law firm with an eye on continuing our rapid growth it is really important to us that we have an eye on the next generation of intellectual property superstars.

James is someone that has demonstrated this not only when we had him in as an intern; but also across his professional and academic experience. Coming in this month he has already proven invaluable in assisting the London team with our heavy case load.

We are looking forward to seeing how he continues to assist and progress as part of the Virtuoso family.

We are delighted to see clients are already benefiting from the addition of another highly talented IP prospect to the team.
